Far Beyond the Next Update (Parody)

Hi guys.

I made this VN using Kael's art, characters, and took a ton of inspiration from his story. This is just an unfinished VN meant for the consumption of others waiting on the next update, but don't want any real attempt of getting too close to the original.

A little backstory:

- Why does this VN exist in the first place?

Mostly due to my impatience, and a bizzare streak of dreaming about FBtW 3 times in a row. Im not overly superstitious, but since it is the VN I enjoy the most I couldn't overlook the coincidence. I've wanted to write my own VN ever since Adastra was being updated. FBtW seemed to capture my imagination so much more with its Celtic-esque fantasy culture.

LOTR,  Harry Potter, and Narnia meant a lot to me as a kid. As an adult, I know that the Isles of UK and Ireland are not so fantasifull, but to the imagination of a 6-12 year old? So to come across another fantasy story with the familiar cultures of the Isles AND it being furry themed! Kael has managed to create the story I have always dreamed of authoring myself.

So here I am. Not only writing a fanfic (I'll get back to that) but practicing my hand at Ren'Py while using an existing canon. Ren'py was surprisingly easy to learn, though I'm at a plataue at the moment. I've decided while I was drunk to just put it up on itch and give other fans something to do while they wait for the next public update. Some events in the story actually happened in my dream. Otherwise, I created some just to extend the reading material and make it entertaining for general (furry) audiences.

I'm sorry the quality is so bad in the first, i'd say 5-10mins of readtime? Since a certain point, I've decided to do this sober because the material was FAR from the standard when I've had something to drink. I still think it is pretty good for only 1 draft attempt and not always planning things (I am trying to stick to the dream I had, but there isn't enough material in that if you want a route to last 1 hour of read time).

What's my goal here?:

(SPOILERS HERE!) But also character building in my own vision of FBtW. Erof was quite the interesting character. But I am always the type to overthink things... Unfortunately Erof does not fit in well into Kael's story. I remember 3 things in particular. Ranok casually stripping before eating breakfast in front of Caelan, no one batting an eye to same sex dance partners, and then Ranok and Erof claiming to hump whoever they're sleeping next to while asleep. You'd think a homophobic culture wouldn't tolerate such things, but it is clear they have nuance. This parody exaggerates that nuance into what I can make sense of. It's definitely not the same vision as what Kael might have.

- Also, I need to see what I can actually produce before I make my own VN.

Yeah. I'm using a beloved VN as a kind of stepping stone XD (Im sorry Kael!).

If you have criticisms, please note that this is a fanfic. You should enjoy the real FBtW before downloading this one. Fanfics aren't meant to really be critisized. It is like going into a house you're not invited to and taking issue with the fashion sense of the people living in it. I'm not saying you're rude if you do, but in general there is no need to critisize as it will go to waste. Especially since I don't actually care about the quality of this story. IK where is needs improvement, I am capable of giving it my best, but I am consciously deciding not to out of respect for Kael and not dressing better than the person of import in this case.

If you do have criticisms on the quality of this VN use the Rate mechanic. I will read them, but I have already forewarned that I probably already know what's wrong with the VN and don't want to waste your time with this redundancy. This will relegate the comment section for the community in case typos or bugs are spotted. Or if people want more routes or to see something specific happen story-wise.

If you're reading this Kael: I know you're going through a lot. I'm not trying to be mean with a parody. If it's too much I'll be glad to take it down and apologize. But I hope you like it too and it can give you and Elath some laughs :)

I like this parody and I love Erof. Could you do more hot dialogues and maybe even nsfw?
